Justice, small town style

As some of you know, I have been having a HUGE problem with the upstairs neighbors. The police have been called three times, citations have been issued and yet, it still continues.

I haven't blogged about most of it because I knew there was a chance it might end up in court someday . Today is that day.

There is a court date for a citation today. The someone from the city attorney's office and I had a nice chat yesterday. She asked me to bring in any video, picture, etc. I have. I did, and included a letter that explains a bit of what is going on.

Today the same woman from the city Attorney's office called me. After reviewing the case, the City Attorney thinks something needs to be done NOW.

Turns out the City Attorney is pretty good friends with the Dean of Students at the school they all attend. He thinks it would be best to call the Dean and get the school involved. They also told me to continue to call the police if the same crap continues.

The apartment manager also sent a letter to the kids and co-signers/parents.

The health department was here a few weeks ago about all of the trash in their garage. He took pictures and issued a warning. (Not trash like "junk" trash like real trash that smelled so bad we could smell it in our house.)

So now their parents can't ignore what their kids are doing. Me, the apartment manager, the police, the health department, the City Attorney and now their school is all involved.

Update: The Co-signers/parents have had enough. They called the apartment manager on Wednesday and declared a truce. They said their kids will straighten up... they have been given ultimatums. They haven't even received the letters from the apartment manager. Maybe they talked to the police and found out that to issue a citation the police have to actually witness the violation. Or maybe the guy from the health department sent pictures to everyone on the lease. Not sure what made them finally take notice and as long as it stops I don't care.
